Under Mr. Newman’s direction Ocean Edge completed a $55 million renovation over five years at Ocean Edge, including a turn-of-the-century Mansion and Carriage house overlooking Cape Cod Bay, and the property was awarded AAA Four Diamond status.
Mr. Newman received the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Award for his many contributions to the Cape Cod community. Among them, Mr. Newman serves on the Board of Directors for Latham Centers Inc., an organization based in Brewster with the mission of assisting the developmentally and emotionally disabled. In addition, Mr. Newman has received the Cape Cod & the Islands Philanthropic Business of the year award on behalf of Ocean Edge Resort & Golf Club.
Before Ocean Edge, Mr. Newman was General Manger of two Corcoran Jennison Hospitality properties; the 197-room Doubletree Boston Bayside, and the 268-room Doubletree Hotel Downtown Boston.
A native of Kildare, Ireland, Mr. Newman has received a number of community awards and has been honored at the Annual Community Awards Dinner of Action for Boston Community Development, Inc., (ABCD) for his kindness, generosity, and tireless work in assisting the Chinatown neighborhood.
He is a 1987 graduate of Trinity College in Dublin, and has a B.S. Degree with Honors in Business Management. He is also a graduate of Dublin College of Hotel and Catering Management and holds a Higher Diploma (Honors) in Hotel Catering and Management.
Ms. Corcoran is responsible for new projects and marketing efforts, for CJH owned properties. Suzanne’s mission is to generate revenue through market solutions utilizing the web, direct marketing, social media, email marketing, advertising, and brand awareness, delivering high quality marketing tools and results.
Ms. Corcoran leads the effort in creating the tone and voice/brand aesthetic for Ocean Edge Resort and Golf Club on Cape Cod. She creates forward looking effective and efficient strategies based on key insights about our communities, guest lifestyle/luxury, marketplace, and business and ensures execution of tone, look and feel across all touch points and levels.
Ms. Corcoran has 26+ years marketing leadership with a proven track in strategic and tactical marketing planning, and multi-brand marketing.
Ms. Corcoran spent much of her earlier career in multifamily marketing and real estate development for CJH’s parent company, Corcoran Jennison Companies. In this role she developed, managed and communicated content, creative assets, resources, in the property marketing toolkit and provided support to multi-housing marketing teams on how to leverage the creative, as well as developing marketing programs for new properties. For much of her career, Ms. Corcoran focused on mixed-income housing.
Ms. Corcoran holds an MS from the Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation and a BA from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in History.
